I have been hearing about these sewing dares going around. Linky link: Sewing Dares! I took to Twitter and set myself up for this challenge. Here’s what I got from Crafting Rainbows (start reading tweets from the bottom).
So I’m accepting the challenge. I am going to stitch up my blue lace.
What do you think? The blue lace underlined with pale blue. Remember I had a hard time deciding what to do with this lace.
Butterick 5782 is the pattern. I love the full skirt and bow at the neck.
As far as the B portion of the dare, I am considering a giveaway. I just have to decide how it will happen. Suggestions?
I am also working on my Jumpin’ January goal of stitching up an Alma Blouse. I worked on it a little at a time over the last week. Sunday night were the Golden Globes and I was sick but managed to interface my facings and stitch the belt. I hate stitching a belt at the end of the project. Most times I end up skipping it. I thought I’d get it done first!
Have you been dared as part of the Sewing Dares! challenge? Tweet @GillianCrafts if you’d like to join in the fun.

Glad to see you’re using the blue lace! It caught my eye in your last post – sooo pretty!!
Yes! I loved it so much when I first bought. Almost too much to cut into it.
Thanks for commenting!
The blue lace is pretty bit I love the polka dots!
Thank you! I loved it as soon as I saw it. Thought it would be perfect for an Alma.
Oh and love the new blog design!
🙂
I think my mom has some of that red polka dot fabric. I’m quite sure it’s one of the fabrics she is using for infinity scarves. I have Alma and I know which fabric I want to use but it’s a bit down the list on what to sew. I look forward to seeing your Alma.
I understand the hesitation with that blue lace. It is lovely and I think that dress is a good pattern for it.
I’m always looking for tops/blouses. I have a ton of skirts. I hope the Alma turns out since it has so many variations.
If I wad the blue lace, I will cry. 😦
I love that Butterick dress pattern; it has such an interesting architectural drape but the bow at the neck gives it some softness – looking forward to seeing your make! 🙂
I like that there is no waist seam. Just one long side seam. (Okay, 2)
No sure what to make the bow out of yet…
I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Liebster Award on my blog. It’s an award designed to bring more viewers to the blogs with fewer than 200 followers! 😀
Wha?! Thank you! I will check out your post now. *blush*
