Did you wear a poncho as a kid? You wanted to feel like Wonder Woman in it but because it was knit or crocheted by your grandma you didn’t really appreciate it. Why couldn’t it be red vinyl?! Now you’d love your grandma to knit or crochet for you. As a kid we just wanted store-bought.
That’s really another post for another time but what about capes, the cousin of the poncho. I recently made a capelet from a kimono sleeve jacket pattern. It was for a garden party wedding so the occasion allowed for a little creativity and fun. But can you wear capes in everyday life?

Falling Through Your Clothes 
I really want to sew the cape that’s in the book Sew Everything Workshop. But I’ve never worn anything like it so I don’t know if I could pull it off. So, in theory, capes are awesome (and I really like the knit capes that you posted).
I’d like the casual wool one above – tailored like a coat, but less restricting!
